*This spread is part of an exciting five day series on how to translate the latest fall trends from runway to reality. The full article will be up on my fashion journalism class website www.smufashionmedia.com next week. Thanks to Neiman Marcus PR Director Apryl Churchill and photographer Christos Patelis for making it happen!

Super sweet Cusp Department Manager Rachel Michael knows exactly what SMU fashionistas crave in a boulevard look. The silk red Rory Beca top and snazzy navy earrings (similar here and here) feel very urban chic to me. But this is Texas after all, so I added cowboy boots (similar here) for a touch of southern charm.
Thankfully SMU’s school colors are so hot right now. Crimson red was splashed all over the runways. Such a rich color makes a great fun pop, don’t you think? Plus, the witty and adorable Rachel said it best herself: “Navy is the new neutral!”
How do you dress for the boulevard? Are you more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, or do you treat the boulevard like your very own runway?
If you’re not an SMU student, I’d love to hear about your fun fashion too! What’s the 4-1-1 on tailgating at other campuses?
Happy hump day everyone!
Love the red top! You look really cute.

Fashion and Beauty Finds
Thanks so much, Amy. Just followed your blog. Loved your post on the different ways to wear ankle booties. I just bought the Tory Burch Elina booties– Can't wait 'til Dallas weather lets me wear them!
Thanks for checking out my blog, xoxo
