Coming off the high of New York Fashion Week, have you ever dreamed of creating runway ready looks at a fraction of the cost?
It was a dream come true when I worked with Neiman Marcus PR Director Apryl Churchill and photographer Christos Patelis for my fashion journalism assignment. For my full story on how to usher in the season in style, you’ll have to head over to www.smufashionmedia.com next week. Until then, I’ll give you a little taste of the hottest fall trends every day this week, as well as the inside scoop on my shoot.
Check back often on Brooke du jour for more info about sensible and stylish fashion choices. I’ve got you covered for every occasion from sorority formals to the classroom.

I was instantly drawn to this Torn by Ronny Kobo Casey dress for its unusual brocade pattern. I’ve had a color crush on black and gold for a while now, and I felt like a million bucks as soon as I slipped it on. The snug silhouette hugs me in all the right places making me feel super confident. This would be one hot number for a sorority formal! DG’s formal is coming up in November, and I’ll definitely have to remember this daring dress.
What’s your favorite dress you’ve ever worn to a special dance? (I had a particularly traumatizing moment at my senior prom when my dress ripped before the pictures. Needless to say, that dress will not go down as one of my favorite dresses of all time).
To finish off my fashion-forward look, I added my trusty Target heels and
Kendra Scott Skylar earrings in tigers eye.

Love the bold gold for fall! Great wearable interpretation of the runway trends!
YOU LOOK FIERCE! Love the dress! Wish I had the brown hair to pull it off!
Thanks guys!
And Meredith, blondes can definitely pull off gold!
Love the look, Brooke! Can't wait to see the rest of the series.
