This isn’t the first time I’ve been on my blog wearing jammies and drinking wine and it probably won’t be the last! Today I thought it would be fun to share some personal tidbits about me. Whether you’ve been reading Brooke du jour since I started this blog almost four years ago (!) or you’re a new reader, it’s about time we get to know each other better! Have any other questions? Hometown: I’m originally from Los Angeles. I grew up in a pink house, which probably explains a lot about my deep-rooted obsession with anything and everything pink.

Family: I have a younger brother named Will. He has always been smart, athletic, really kind and he is great at reading people and cultivating friendships. I’m crazy proud of him. I tell my parents all the time that they hit the jackpot with us! My parents still live in the house that we grew up in, which I love. I tell them constantly they aren’t allowed to sell it.

Education: I went to an all-girls high school, which I was not the biggest fan of. I moved to Dallas about 6 years ago to go to SMU. I loved SMU. I studied Journalism, Fashion Media and Communications. I was also a Delta Gamma, and I made so many amazing friendships through my sorority.

Occupation: I started working at rewardStyle soon after I graduated from SMU. rewardStyle is a fashion tech company that enables influencers to monetize their online content and social media. Basically we connect influencers with other 4,000 retailers and they are able to use our tools to monetize their content. One of our most popular tools is LIKEtoKNOW.it, our Instagram shopping service. Seriously the most addicting way to shop ever.

Relationship status: In a relationship. His name is Michael, and I’ll stop embarrassing him on the Internet now.

Currently reading: I religiously read theSkimm every morning. I just finished reading Me Before You. OMG if you haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favor and buy it off Amazon right now. And be prepared to cry- like really cry.

Weekly ritual: I go to Drybar every week. A weekly blowout may seem excessive, but it has become this part of my routine that relaxes me and calms me down. Some people meditate, I get blowouts.

Favorite way to spend a Sunday: Devour a stack of pancakes (heavy on the syrup please) and spend the afternoon blogging (literally my favorite thing to do) with Netflix playing in the background (I just started watching Parenthood).

Best beauty secret: Hair extensions.
