‘Tis the season for holiday parties! I love ringing in the festivities with a bold red lip and shimmering gold eye shadow. Whether you’re the hostess of the evening or everyone’s favorite party guest, I wanted to share with y’all my holiday beauty routine.
First things first, I turn on my favorite N’Sync Christmas CD and pour myself a glass of champagne! Next, I prep my skin with a Chanel moisturizer for sensitive skin. I then start on my eyebrows to give the moisturizer time to absorb into my skin. I used to hate my thick eyebrows when I was younger, but now I like how my bold brows frame my face. I define them with Anastasia brow powder. I use MAC Saddle eye shadow in my crease and to transition. I add some eye-catching sparkle with MAC Sweet Heat eye shadow and blend the two eye shadows together. I love a subtle cat eye, and I’ve found it’s really easy to achieve with this MAC gel eyeliner. I’m a firm believer in the bigger the lashes, the better so I always use several coats of this Chanel mascara.
I apply my foundation with the beautyblender everyone is obsessed with. I used to use a brush for my foundation but I noticed sometimes that would leave streaks, so I’m now a loyal beautyblender fan! I also use it to apply concealer under my eyes. Next, I use a highlighter around my eyes and on the top of my cheekbones to brighten my skin. I’m kind of intimidated of the whole contouring thing, so I just contour a little bit down the sides of my nose, across the tip and the top to bring it all together.
Now, it’s time for my favorite part—rich red lips! I use a liner all over my lips to give the illusion of a fuller top lip and to ensure my lipstick lasts even after one or two stops under the mistletoe. I’ve tried a lot of red lipsticks, and trust me when I say MAC Viva Glam is a necessary item to your makeup bag. There’s nothing worse than red lipstick on your teeth, so matte is a much safer choice than glossy.
I add some blush and then use the beautyblender again to blend everything all together. I finish with a little more shimmer under my eyes and then I’m off to the party!
