Welcome to Brooke du jour! I’m wearing my favorite summer staple, a MINKPINK Darling Buds of May Floral Sundress with a full skirt perfect for twirling! I can’t get enough of the pink and green romantic pattern. Plus, I have to admit the sweetheart neckline accents and flatters my small bust- All of my A cup sisters out there should have a dress like this in their closets! The cinched waist also creates a slim silhouette, highlighting my waist. For an added feminine touch, the adorable scalloped lace edges do the trick.
My structured suede bag is Tory Burch’s 797 Suede Messenger Bag. It looks like a mini book bag, so it serves as a great transition piece into back to school fall classics. It’s also on sale right now! Who doesn’t love a good sale?
The necklace pictured is very special to me, because it belonged to my great-grandmother Elise. I’ve worn it to my high school graduation and a bunch of other important life moments, so it was only fitting to showcase it on my very first blog post! My necklace is on trend as a statement piece, but it has a vintage elegant feel to it. I thought it would be fun to combine an older era with this fresh and youthful look.
It took me a while to get in on the jean jacket trend. I was a little hesitant to drop some serious cash on a jean jacket like this Rag & Bone one. Instead, I picked this Denim Co. jacket up at Primark in London where I studied this summer. Primark is basically Europe’s version of Target, and I snagged some fabulous deals. To make the jacket feel more uniquely me, I glued girly pearl buttons from Michaels Arts and Crafts onto the existing buttons.
If your style has an edgier vibe, substitute my Stuart Weitzman wedges for bad-ass motorcycle booties like these Vera Wang Lavender Label Moto Booties or these Lucky Brand Moto Booties.
As fall comes upon us, I’ll be forced to stuff my sweet and summery dress in the back of my closet and make room for fall trends like layered looks and faux-fur. Stay tuned for upcoming posts featuring all that fall has to offer!
A big thanks to my fabulous friend Kendall for her talented and creative photography!
I would love to hear from you! What do you think of my look?

I love the feminine, yet whimsical look and feel of your outfit! Awesome idea to change out the buttons on your jacket….I just may have to try that on mine! Can't wait to see what your next look will be!

Thanks so much Taylor! It was so easy to glue on different buttons. I used gorilla glue from a hardware store to put on the new buttons. The sticky fingers were worth it!
Check back often for more posts : )
