Think Pink This October

As many of you know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’m so happy some of my favorite stores have teamed up with various charities to save sisters around the world. Show your support and shop pink! 1. A portion of proceeds from the Stila Positively Pink Set will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation ($18.00). 2. 25% of proceeds from the Loft Live In Pink Sequin Mini Skirt will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation ($69.50). 3. A portion of proceeds from the Aqua Cashmere Sweater will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation ($148.50).…

Tinseltown Glam

A huge thanks to my perfect style match, my best friend Kendall, for taking the photos. Los Angeles, I missed you! I’ve had so much fun relaxing with my family and friends over fall break in my treasured hometown. Long lazy lunches at Huckleberry and retail therapy with my mom are just what the doctor ordered after a week of pesky midterms. I wore this outfit to a dinner date with my girlfriends. I’m typically not one to wear all black, but I felt chic in this minimalist ensemble. Modern easy glamour is hard to come by, but this Bardot…

How-to: Braided Crown

La Bichette, a new hair and makeup studio right across the street from SMU, brings a country-French feel to Dallas. I had the pleasure to create a simple hair tutorial with the red-headed mother daughter duo behind La Bichette, Marsha and Tammy Coleman. A braided crown looks fancy, but I promise it’s a super easy updo that can be done in five minutes or less! All photos by my sorority sister and fabulous photographer, Robbi Jo Robyn. Ta-da! This is Tammy, the brilliant and beautiful hairstylist behind the final look. Tammy’s favorite childhood memories are of watching her mom, Marsha,…

How to wow his folks

SMU Family Weekend is almost here. For many of you, this could be the big opportunity to meet your new beau’s parents. “I have nothing to wear!” seems to be the classic dilemma, but choosing an outfit to impress his parents can be extra intimidating. I was a bit frazzled (to say the least!) when I met Spencer’s parents. I remember tearing my closet apart to find something that possessed girl-next-door charm. I was glad I stuck to happy hues instead of over-the-top prints. These sweet and feminine pieces are sure to win over his mama, so you lovebirds can…

Wedding Wednesday

I haven’t been to a wedding since I was the flower girl’s age. A friend of our family is saying “I do!” in three weeks, so the shopping clock is ticking! Now that I’m old enough to dress myself, I’ve been online shopping for days. Looking for an outfit with feminine details and a romantic feel, I finally found this RED Valentino bow dress and built the rest of my outfit around it. If bubble gum pink isn’t your cup of tea, the dress also comes in navy. What’s your most memorable wedding moment? For more wedding wonderfulness, check out…
