With school in full swing, prepster outfits take center stage in my wardrobe. My crisp white button down from Ann Taylor could easily take you from class to an after school internship. I love the delicate pearl buttons and subtle tulle trim. The prim and proper blouse ties in well with my feminine and bright lace pencil skirt, another Ann Taylor purchase! My bag is part of Tory Burch’s Robinson line. The shape and chic gold chain feel very classic, but the metallic moss gold coloring adds a modern edge to the traditional bag. For some extra spice, I added in BCBG calf hair leopard print flats. I’m not quite bold enough for a leopard dress- I typically leave those to the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey- so I like to keep the trend to thin belts and shoes. Shhh! I’ll let you in on a little secret- I picked up my teardrop statement necklace at Chico Accessories, a stand on the 3rd St. Promenade, for 12 bucks! But, as much as I love a good bargain, my ’80s tortoise shell glasses are my favorite part of the outfit by far. My style icons seem to always be quirky brunettes, and my recent obsession with “New Girl” actress Zooey Deschanel is no exception. Zooey’s Oliver Peoples glasses are so “adorkable,” I had to play around in a similar pair ; )
Would you wear such whimsical glasses?
