As soon as I spotted this cute Parisian tee, I knew I needed an occasion to wear it immediately. Please don’t tell me I’m the only one who plans activities around an outfit choice?! I’m a big fan of a solid charcuterie board and drinking in the middle of the day, so Vanessa and I hopped over to Marie Gabrielle Gardens for a French picnic.
When it comes to arranging the perfect charcuterie board, you can’t just throw cheese and crackers on a plate and call it a day. I like adding a variety of cheeses, meats, fruits and sweet treats so there’s something everyone can nibble on and enjoy. For drinks, rosé, white wine or a yummy sangria are always crowd pleasers.
A picnic can be such a fun thing to do in the fall when the weather starts to cool down. Other fun fall activities I’m looking forward to are tailgating, apple picking and eating an unhealthy amount of candy corn (does that count as an activity?). What’s on your fall bucket list? xx
To continue Brooke du jour’s birthday celebrations, I’m rounding up my favorite posts from the last year! It’s hard for me to choose my absolute favorite post, because I pour so much love and energy into every single post. I think one of my favorites is my 24th Birthday Brunch post. I have always loved a good party but through planning that event in particular, I discovered my passion for event planning. Entertaining is definitely an area I want to focus more on in the future on this blog. I also really loved Let’s Be Mermaids. The beach has always been special to me as I grew up in LA and spent 99% of my time at the beach. I’ve been in LA a ton recently and have been shooting a lot of looks with the fabulous Betsy Newman, so get excited for more LA posts!
Do you have a favorite post? What do you want to see next on Brooke du jour? xx
Birthdays are a big deal around Brooke du jour so you must have known I would throw a party for Brooke du jour’s 4th birthday right?! No party is complete without cupcakes and champagne, so my friend Alex graciously gave up her beautiful kitchen for an afternoon and let me make a mess, ha!
I started Brooke du jour when I was a junior in college and of course a lot has changed since then (jobs, relationships, big girl stuff, etc). But the one thing that hasn’t changed is how much I truly love Brooke du jour. I pour my heart into this blog, and I hope it brings some joy into your life. Thank you, thank you, thank you for reading and following along with me : )
My birthday wish is to really dedicate myself to this blog and create new, fun content more regularly. One of my favorite quotes lately is, “Be fearless in pursuing what sets your heart on fire! Find your passion. Follow your dreams.” What kind of content are you interested in seeing moving forward? Please let me know in the comments!
