I’m not a morning person. I so wish I was but I’m just not. Quick tip- if you ever want to get me out of bed, dangle a Starbucks and/or a DryBar gift card in front of me and I will run to you. For all other mornings, I will snooze my alarm until the last possible minute before I have to get ready for work. Thankfully, my office is casual so I don’t feel like I need to put my whole face on. However, no one likes a hot mess so I try to pull it together real quick. Here’s my morning makeup routine- guaranteed to get you out of the door in 10 minutes or less…

I’m all about lashes so I start there. My friend Jaclyn is a beauty guru/goddess and taught me a fabulous trick- it’s all about layering when it comes to mascara. I do several coats of CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara, add a few coats of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and then finish it off with a few more coats of the CoverGirl Mascara.

Next up, it’s moisturizer time. I’ve tried a lot of different moisturizers in the MAC family and I’m currently into MAC Marine Bright Formula SPF 30 Moisturizer. I love that it already has SPF 30, because I’m a freak when it comes to sunscreen. I’m pale and scared of Botox down the line, so I basically wear sunscreen all the time.

Then I apply Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Flawless Foundation. I’m a little late to the beautyblender party, so I always use Chanel Pinceau Fond De Teint Foundation Brush #6. I then most likely dab Chanel Correcteur Perfection Long-Lasting Concealer under my eyes, because I stayed up too late watching all my favorite shows on Netflix (I’m currently re-watching “Mad Men,” and I swear Jon Hamm gets hotter every time I watch). Next, I apply Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15. I am the palest person in America so I have the lightest shade- #10. I then lightly brush NARS Deep Throat blush on my cheeks to give me a little color.

Depending on my mood, I’ll finish things off with either Chanel 119 Wild Rose lip gloss or just some Burt’s Bees chap stick. I have about a million tubes of both of these in every purse.

So that’s it! Super quick and easy and definitely not rocket science. What are your morning beauty routines?

As I mentioned in my 10 Fun Facts About Me post, I’m addicted to drybar. I think it’s important to invest in what makes you feel good about yourself whatever that might be. For me, that’s a weekly blowout at drybar. I like to make my blowouts last as long as possible and I’m also insanely lazy in the mornings, so drybar dry shampoo and conditioner are my saving grace. I couldn’t buy enough of this stuff if I tried, lol!

To apply, I put my hair in diagonal sections and spray the dry shampoo at the roots. I flip my hair over and rub in the dry shampoo with my fingers to add volume and texture. I then use the dry conditioner on my ends to keep the moisture. That’s it! Easy peasy right?

My beauty routine stays pretty consistent throughout the year, but lately I’ve been playing around with new fall colors to transition my makeup bag from summer to fall. On the runway, I’ve been seeing a lot of strong, strict lips with smudgy, “just woke up” eye shadow so I wanted to replicate that trend but make it a bit more relatable.

For lips, I’ve been experimenting with MAC Diva lipstick, Anastasia Beverly Hills Bordeaux lip gloss and NARS Charlotte lipstick. My favorite is MAC Diva! It’s in the red family that I love but darker. Ombre lips are in for fall so I recommend using a lip liner like MAC Ms. Diva lip pencil. I know lip liner can be tricky and definitely takes practice! I typically line the middle of my bottom lip and make two points on my Cupid’s bow on the top of my lip to balance out the lip and make it look even. Then I connect the lines and fill in my lips with the liner.

I balance my lips with color on my cheeks. I normally wear a peachy blush like NARS Orgasm, but MAC Diva is too cool for that. To achieve the fall look I’m going for, I use MAC Baby Don’t Go blush and MAC Dame blush. They both add structure, define my cheek bones and add flush.

I take my fluffy MAC 217 brush to apply MAC Stolen Moment eye shadow. I sweep in tiny little circles starting at my lash line and follow my eyeball. I like Stolen Moment because it gives me the darker effect I’m looking for without being so dark that I look like I lost a bar fight, lol! If you’re doing your eye shadow after you’ve done your face, grab some tissues because this pigmented shadow tends to fall out. I also make my eyeliner a little smudgy instead of a clean line to get that messier look I’m going for.

What beauty trends are y’all excited to try this fall? Also, please let me know if you have any requests for future beauty posts on the blog! Next up, I’m planning a post on my obsession with Drybar dry shampoo and dry conditioner : )
