Calling all NYE lovers! Everyone’s favorite holiday is right around the corner, so I thought it would be fun to post a makeup tutorial to help you ring in 2017! Fabulous bubbly, sparklers and midnight countdowns wouldn’t be complete without a party-perfect makeup look right?!

I kept my overall look the same as this post but I switched up my eye shadow and lips.

To recreate my look, first pat MAC Smoky Mauve eye shadow like a V on the outer corners of your eyes. Then take MAC Last Dance eye shadow and pat and press it in the inner corners. Last Dance is a really fun, sparkly shade. I mean what is New Year’s Eve without glitter eye shadow? Nothing I tell you, nothing. Next, pat and drag down your brush with MAC Swish eye shadow in the middle of the other colors. Tip: Patting makes your shadow last longer and really shows the color. To intensify the shadow, try MAC Prep & Prime Fix +. It will give you a really fun, metallic eye! Definitely adds an exclamation point to any look.

For lips, use the MAC Stripdown lip pencil first. Another tip: Lay the pencil flat and drag it around to get the most color. Lip liner can be a little tricky to get the hang of at first, but it makes your lip gloss last so much longer—which comes in handy after several glasses of champs! Finish off with MAC Snob lip gloss for a pretty nude lip that doesn’t compete with your eyes + extra kissable lips!

Cheers to 2017! What are your plans for NYE?

My makeup routine is pretty consistent year round, but I like to mix it up a bit for the holidays to get into a festive spirit! Grab a glass of champagne and some peppermint bark and let’s go over my tips to get you ready for your next holiday party!

My MAC pearl highlighter doubles as an eyeshadow base, so I put that on first. Then I grab my MAC 217 and 239 brushes for my eyeshadow. I recently bought the MAC Burgundy Times Nine eyeshadow palette, which I love! It has such a great collection of nine shadows and it’s only $32! This palette is pure magic for holiday parties, and it would also be a really cute present for a friend. Your friends would freaking love you! I apply Honey Lust first- It has such a pretty, soft sheen. Then I put Haux in the outer corners of my eyes and sweep through my creases as well as in my inner corners. Next I use Embark on my lash lines and make ‘em smoky! I add more primer underneath my eyes and put Honey Lust in the inner corners and Haux and Embark through the lash lines. I add liquid eyeliner on top and kind of stamp it as I go across my lash line. My hands can get kind of shaky so I hold my elbow to get a straight line. Next up I add a ton of mascara and brown eyeliner on my waterline to create that party eye!

I use the same moisturizer, foundation, concealer, powder and blush that I went over in this post.

Then I grab my MAC pearl highlighter again and dab it under my brow bones, above my brows and through my cheekbones like in a C shape to add dimensionality. I also put highlighter on the bridge of my nose. I used to be scared of highlighter, but I promise it’s fabulous when used sparingly! I almost don’t remember life without highlighter now, lol!

I finish off with MAC Craving lipstick! As much as I love red lips, Craving feels a bit unexpected for holiday parties but still pretty and festive.

The holidays are such a busy time with party after party and you’re using your makeup a lot! Remember to clean your brushes and your eyeshadow palettes, powders, etc! The beautyblender blendercleanser is absolute magic on your brushes. I just spritz rubbing alcohol on my eyeshadow palettes, powders and other beauty products like that to keep ‘em germ free!

Thanks for reading! Please let me know if you have any questions or if you have any favorite holiday looks in the comments! xx

“Good hair days make me feel like I can rule the world.”

I’m excited to share my hair routine with y’all! As some of you know, I love a good drybar blowout. In between blowouts, I style my own hair at home and try to do my best! After a lot of practice and trying different products, I have a solid routine down : )

I wash my hair with drybar Sake Bomb shampoo and conditioner. I try to only wash my hair twice a week. The conditioner can get a little heavy, because it’s so nourishing, so I use it mostly on my ends and work it lightly throughout my hair. I want my showers as hot as possible but I’ll try to do a cool rinse at the end every once in a while. Apparently it helps your hair really hold onto the moisture from the conditioner and make it extra shiny- yes please!

I let my hair air dry for a bit to avoid as much heat as possible and then I grab my blow dryer and put it to work! Next, I use drybar 100 Proof treatment oil on my dry hair before I style it. This product is a must if you style your hair often!

I curl my hair with the drybar 3 Day Bender curling iron. If I’m getting ready to go out, I’ll also add a glass of champagne to this step! I use the 1.25 inch iron to get the loose curls I want. This iron would be a great Christmas gift- either for yourself or a friend you really like, lol! As I curl my hair, I add in my extensions. I’ve always wanted long hair but my hair refuses to grow past my boobs, so I decided to just buy it, lol! I use a combination of Design Lengths and Euronext extensions from Sally Beauty. If you’ve never worn extensions before, I found this tutorial video really helpful. I watched a million YouTube videos to figure out how to put in extensions and asked a lot of questions at drybar when I was learning! I absolutely love ‘em!

Once I’m done curling my hair, I finish things off with drybar Money Maker hairspray. I hold the hairspray about 10 inches away from my hair, so it doesn’t get too crunchy. Nobody wants crunchy hair! Like all the drybar products, this hairspray smells sooooo good!

After it has been a few days and I’m too lazy to wash my hair, I’ll use drybar dry shampoo and conditioner. You can read this post to learn all about the magic of dry shampoo and conditioner!

Once a week, I apply the drybar Mudslide mask. It’s a little heavy so a little goes a long way! I put it on my ends and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Try this and your dry hair will thank you!!

Alright- that’s it! Any questions? Feel free to ask me in the comments! : )
