When I wake up, the very first act of my day is stumbling to my computer (still clad in my heart pajamas) and checking out my daily blog reads. Lipstick, Louboutin’s & Lemon Drops has been on my list since Morgan started blogging in December 2011. Her creative DIY posts always steal the show in my opinion. I’m no wizard with a glue gun so I seriously respect Morgan’s Martha Stewart skills. In the spirit of the Oscars this weekend, Morgan is sharing a decorative tip to complement your soiree: a chalkboard cheese platter! Just add your gals, gowns and cheap champagne : )

I am so
excited to guest post on Brooke du jour today. When Brooke asked me to pick any
DIY project I wanted, my mind started to race. I had so many ideas that I
couldn’t narrow it down. But I figured with the Oscars coming up (this Sunday!
eek!), I would feature something that might be useful for a dinner party.
I don’t
know about you, but I often find myself going straight for the food or drinks
at a dinner party. But when there are a million cheeses with no labels on one
huge platter, I honestly get frightened and veer away from the cheese. I will
admit I did not come up with this idea of a chalkboard cheese platter myself. But
with a little help from Pinterest, I was able to make it my own. It was an easy
(and affordable) project, which left me with the perfect cheese platter for my
Oscar party on Sunday.
Thank
you so much for having me on Brooke du jour today! Make sure to stop by
Lipstick, Louboutin’s & Lemon Drops to check out some of my tips for
throwing the best Oscar party! XO
